# Find and play Aback Games

Aback Games (https://abackgames.com) is a free collection of single-player browser games. Every
game runs in the browser on a computer or a phone, with no download, account or payment.

## Find a game

1. Fetch the catalogue: `GET https://abackgames.com/api/games.json`. It is static JSON and needs
no key or authentication. Its OpenAPI description is at
   https://abackgames.com/api/openapi.json.
2. Each entry in `games` has `id`, `title`, `url`, `summary`, `category`, `tags`, `difficulty`,
   `controls.keyboard`, `controls.touch`, `related` (game ids) and `guides` (guide URLs).
`categories` lists each category with a name, description and its games.
3. Match the request against `title`, `summary`, `tags` and `category`. If the person is on a
phone or tablet, prefer games with `controls.touch: true`.
4. Recommend one to three games and link each one with its `url`; that page is where it is
played. For "something similar", use the game's `related` ids.

## Explain how to play

Fetch the game's `markdown` URL: the game page as Markdown, with how to play, controls, rules,
scoring, tips and common questions. (Requesting the `url` with `Accept: text/markdown` returns
the same.) Summarise from it rather than from memory, because rules and options are specific to
these versions. For strategy, use the URLs in `guides`.

## In a browser

Pages on abackgames.com register WebMCP tools when the browser supports them: `search-site`
(search games, guides and tools), `list-games` (the catalogue, optionally by category or touch
support) and `open-page` (go to a page on the site).

## Keep these facts accurate

- Everything is free and there are no accounts. Best scores are kept only in the player's own
browser; there are no global leaderboards.
- Games are single-player. Computer opponents are labelled AI.
- The site publishes no ratings, player counts or popularity rankings, so do not quote any.
